I have been recently been watching the Tyra Show and it's really intresting. I have always been a fan on her show but this past shows has really spoke to me "as an photographer". Tyra is like the younger oprah. She changes people lives and I want her to do the same with my life. so I started TODAY to reach out to her on Tyra.com So i'll keep you updated on the progress.
On one of post really struck goal to me and evry model needs to know.

Make Love To The Camera

Modeling isn’t just about being fierce and SMIZE-ing your way through a photo shoot. Taking a good picture is a two-way street between the model and the photographer, as the model is essentially creating the photographer’s vision. Tyra is certainly an expert in modeling but I wanted to get a different point of view… the photographer’s! I got Leif Huron Lafferty-Gebauer’s – an emerging photographer – perspective on what is needed to get a great shot. Surprisingly, knowing how to pose isn’t one of them! Read on to find out how you can make love to the camera…

Be Natural: The age of the manufactured ‘model’ poses are out.
Take a Chill Pill: Not only is it extremely important for models to be comfortable with themselves, the photographer needs to be comfortable with the model.
Use Your Psychic Skills: Photographers aren’t always the most clear at articulating their vision. A model needs to be able to listen, interpret & transform instruction.
Patience is a Virtue: A huge part of any photo shoot is waiting! Waiting for the sun to be just right, a cloud to move, or to adjust a light. Remember- patience is a virtue!
Move That Body: A model should be aware of his or her body and be fluid with their movements. One photographer said a background in dance can be useful.
Follow the Leader: Every photographer said that it’s important to be able to follow directions, remember they’re seeing the image. Models can take creative freedom, but need to be receptive to directions and tweaks.

To get an idea of natural and fluid movement, check out his work at leifhuron.com.

Now you’re ready to go out and be fierce!

Dont Underestimate an Nikon Compact Camera!

Those who saw and read my previous post should know all the recent photos I have taken up this point were taken b a Nikon Compact Camera. When I recieved the camera around November I never new how mustgreat quailty that camera can take. Fist I thought my camera suck but as the weeks went on my pictures improved! I realize it wasn't the camera that improved, it was my skills all along. When you have your concept in mind and you know what you want you tell the camera what to do, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

I recently read an article in my App "Nikon Learn & Explore" that explained the power of an compact camera. Let's face it... It isn't the most professional camera out therebut it does serve it purpose. I thought it purpose was to make Great portraits (Yes but No). Also Fashion Pictures As well. These Following Pictures are samples I have taken with the Compact Camera.

Looking at how far I came December-March I had mad so much Progress. Compact Cameras in general are very good but I need to take pictures that our GREAT! still have my compact camera handy but npw I have an SLR (Finally). Now That Im serious out my photography Biz it's tiime to WORKED!

Here are some of my Photos I have taken weeks ago but never posted them.

Mellisa Rodwell

It's been a while since i posted anything on my blog but i havn't forgot about yall. Alot have been taking place within a month and I grown to learn new things about Photography. So lets start right now.

MELLISSA RODWELL

I have viewed over 50 Photographers this past month and they all were good. I was first introduced to "Fashionphotographyblog.com" by Aletha Brown Photography. I took a look at it and it didn't appeal to me at the time. The other day I google "Fashion, Fashion Photography, Fashion blogs" and found fashionphotographyblog.com. I took a look around and it started to appeal to me. I wanted to learn more about Fashion in general and not only I learned about "fashion" but so much more.

The first thing I have learned was "What is Fashion"? "Why Fashion Photography"? "How can I make it in the Fashion industry"? Even though she was directly asking us these questions but I felt the need to answer these questions. I love Fashion and I love Photography and Shooting Fashion seems so right. But anyways...

Melissa Rodwell has change my overall thinking about photography. I learn so much from that post I had to share it with everyone I knew. She even video tapes her shoots to get a visual insight on an actual video shoot. Not having the money for all these workshops I really appreciate her video taping it. I have not been into any workshops but I have been at Althea Brown Studio and she shows me how she works. Just seeing another photographer photoshoot shows me a different "light" in shooting.

Besides Melisa Rodwell Tips, Lessons and "homeworks" She had an 15 minute video about making a portfolio. Some of what she said was a little advance for me at the moment but when i get where shes at then I can kinda take more from what she was saying. Fashion Photographers need to have a professional portfolio, about 40 pictures, and all the pictures need to flow.
She should the viewers her Portfolios and how she pick the photos. It was really informing.

She also should the viewers her Photographer Business Cards and Promo. I learned alot.

I will be getting an SLR Camera soon and I'll will be shooting non stop. You think my pictures are good now. Wait until I get my camera.
